This authentic Shrimp Etouffee recipe is a traditional Cajun or Creole staple meal!  A thick, rich, and flavorful shrimp stew that is served over rice.👉

Ingredients

– Raw shrimp  – Creole Seasoning – Olive oil – Butter – All-purpose flour – Diced green peppers – Diced yellow onions – Celery stalks  – Garlic cloves  *all ingredients listed below

Step 1

Heat olive oil and butter in the pot. Once it melts add the flour and stir. Add the flour in stages half at a time.

Step 2

Add the green peppers, celery, onions, and garlic to the pot and roux. Stir and cook for 2-3 mins until the veggies are soft.

Step 3

Add all of the spices, bay leaves, shrimp broth, and Worcestershire sauce to the pot. Cook as directed, open the pot and add the shrimp.

Step 4

Cook for 3-4 mins until the shrimp has turned pink. Remove the bay leaves and remove the pot from heat. Serve with white rice.
